Mrs. Shawn Sudduth
Associate Professor of Music
Mrs. Shawn Sudduth joined the UC music faculty as an adjunct instructor in 2008. Currently, she is Associate Professor of Music and Coordinator of Music Education Studies for the university. Mrs. Sudduth earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree from Western Michigan University and a Master of Arts in Education degree from the University of the Cumberlands.
In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Mrs. Sudduth is the Colorguard Coordinator for the UC Marching Patriots and the faculty sponsor for the UC chapter of the National Association for Music Educators. She is a member of the International Trombone Association and the Music Teachers National Association. She frequently adjudicates for marching band, concert band, and solo and ensemble festivals throughout Kentucky.
Mrs. Sudduth has taught in the public school system for over twenty years. Most recently, she served as the Director of Bands/Arts and Humanities for the Williamsburg Independent School system. Because of her success as an educator, she was acknowledged for her work in the public schools by being awarded the Teacher of the Year for District 10 by the Kentucky Music Educators Association.
