Mr. Marty Abbott
Adjunct Professor of High Brass

Mr. Marty Abbott joined the University of the Cumberlands’ faculty in 2013 as Adjunct Professor of High Brass.  Mr. Abbott completed both the Bachelor of Music Education degree and the Master of Music Education degree from Illinois State University.
Mr. Abbott relocated to Kentucky after teaching in the Illinois public school system for over 30 years.  Before retiring from high school teaching, Mr. Abbott served as Assistant Band Director for Corbin Independent School in Corbin, KY.

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Abbott is a member of the Kentucky Music Educators Association, and he performs regularly with the Corbin Community Band.  Mr. Abbott frequently adjudicates marching band, concert band, and solo and ensemble festivals throughout Kentucky.
