Charles M. Dupier, Jr. is an associate professor of Geography and Anthropology. He came to Cumberland College in 1966. Professor Dupier attended the University of North Alabama (BS), the University of Kentucky (MA), and Indiana State University (ARD). His current research interests are the historical geography and archaeology of Native Americans in the Southeast. |

Robert E. Stephens, Jr. is a commuting student from McCreary County, Kentucky. The original draft of his paper was written for the Historical Methods class, a required course for history majors at Cumberland College. Robert served as co-historian of the Upsilon-Upsilon Chapter during the 1994-95 school year and will be the president during the 1995-96 school year. |

Christen L. Tominson is a sophomore, political science major from Cartersville, Georgia. She plans, after graduation, to attend graduate school in political science. Christen hopes to eventually teach on the college level and become involved in politics at the state or national level. This paper was written for the Historical Methods course. |
