AUTHORS:

	Nathan Kinser is a 1999 graduate of Cumberland College and President of Upsilon-Upsilon during the 1998-99 school year. He has a major in history with minors in Religion and Philosophy. He is a native of Elizabethton, Tennessee and a graduate of Elizabethton High School. The original draft of this paper was written for the Issues in History course, a senior capstone course at Cumberland.
	Michelle Brown is a 1999 graduate of Cumberland College with majors in History and English. She is a native of Urbana, Illinois and a graduate of Urbana High School. She currently resides in Williamsburg, Kentucky. The original draft of her paper was written for the Issues in History course, a senior capstone course at Cumberland.
	Charles Hayes has a Masters in Education and a long term of service in the armed forces. He is currently living in London, Kentucky. He came to Cumberland to obtain teacher certification in order to teach history. The original draft of his paper was written for the Issues in History course, a senior capstone course at Cumberland.
