Dr. Eric L. Wake
Professor and Department Chair

Dr. Eric Wake is an alumnus of Cumberland College, having graduated with a B.A. in History in 1965. In 1967, he earned an M.A. in History from Texas Christian University, after which he returned to Cumberland as a member of the faculty. While on a leave of absence from the college, Dr. Wake continued his studies at Texas Christian University and was awarded a Ph.D. in Early Modern Europe in 1973.

Dr. Wake has acted as faculty advisor for Upsilon-Upsilon, the college’s award-winning chapter of Phi Alpha Theta. He is also an active member of the American Historical Society, the Southern Historical Society, and the Kentucky Association of Teachers of History.
