The Application Process for all M.A.Ed., Rank II, Administration Certification, and Rank I Students:
- Complete a Graduate Application or an Online Graduate Application and pay required Application Fee.
- Request that official transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work be sent directly from the respective institution(s) to: University of the Cumberlands, Graduate Education Admissions, 7792 College Station Drive, Williamsburg, KY 40769.
- The transcript must include:
- The degree and date on which it was conferred.
- A grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit one copy of the Provisional/Valid Teaching Certificate

Statement of Eligibility
All applicants must be certified teachers and have an adequate number of years experience, if applicable.

- Submit one copy of the appropriate standardized test score sheet.
GRE (675) or Miller’s Analogy (400) is required for all levels of MAEd.
No test is required for Rank or Administration Certification Programs.
- Submit three letters of recommendation on the recommendation form from
past or present professors and/or professional associates.
- All documents must be on file in the Graduate Office within the first three weeks of the first semester the student is enrolled. Failure to complete the above requirements will result in a student being dropped from all coursework.
- Admission to the Graduate Program is completed by a review of the above documents.
Admission Status:
Academic Probation: Students who have a low GPA (2.45-2.49) may be
admitted under academic probation. These students are limited to six (6) hours (as specified by degree programs) for the first term. They must maintain a graduate GPA of 3.0 to continue in the program, after which they may be fully admitted.
Provisionally Admitted: Students who do not have all paperwork in the Graduate Admissions Office by the first day of the term, can be provisionally admitted. Failure to complete the required paperwork by the third week of the term will result in a student being dropped from all coursework. The student may not continue in the program until all paperwork is received.
Fully Admitted: Students who meet all the above requirements and who have successfully completed the application process may be fully admitted.
- After notification of acceptance, the candidate and his/her advisor will
complete a Planned Program and enroll in coursework. An advisor will
be assigned by the Graduate On-line Coordinator.
- A completed and signed Planned Program must be on file within the first fifteen (15) hours of the student’s program.
- All graduate students who are beginning a new program must reapply for subsequent programs. A student who has just finished a Masters degree, for example, must reapply before beginning a Rank I program.
